2025 Key Events and Achievements
2025 has been a remarkable year for the RSS Choir — a testament to the passion, hard work, and unwavering dedication of every member. Week after week, our choristers poured their heart and soul into rehearsals, striving for excellence not just in sound, but in spirit and unity.
This year, our choir touched lives beyond the school walls. We shared the joy of music with the residents of Sembawang through a heartwarming performance at FAM K, spreading smiles and building community connections through song. Our voices also resonated in harmony with others during a choir exchange, a valuable opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the universal language of music.
Our commitment bore fruit in competitions too — we proudly attained a Distinction Award at the Singapore Youth Festival and clinched a Silver Award at the Singapore International Choral Festival, achievements that reflect not just vocal skill, but resilience and teamwork.
Within school, the choir played a vital role in rallying the Riverside spirit, leading the community in singing National Day songs during the National Day Concert. Beyond the stage, our creativity took flight through the production of three music videos, soon to be showcased on the RSS Choir Facebook page, capturing our passion and sharing it with an even wider audience.
Every note sung this year tells a story — of perseverance, friendship, and a shared love for music. As we look back with pride on our journey, we do so knowing that the bonds forged and memories made will continue to inspire us in the years ahead.
Over three years in Riverside Choir, we have grown in confidence, leadership, and teamwork while forming lasting bonds. Joining in Secondary 1, we were warmly guided by our seniors through major performances like SYF and SICF, as well as school events. In Secondary 2, working behind the scenes with the logistics team and EXCO strengthened our trust in one another and our collective abilities. By Secondary 3, we took on leadership roles, planning and leading events such as Choir Camp and Farewell Day. Choir has taught us that unity, collaboration, and shared passion create something greater than ourselves.— Lim Jun Ming, Ashlam Arshad Ahamad Realuyo and Chloe Ong
