2025 Key Events and Achievements
The Robotics Club continued to nurture innovation, creativity, and teamwork through participation in national competitions that challenge students in coding, engineering, and design.
National Robotics Competition (NRC) 2025
At the National Robotics Competition 2025, our Secondary 2 team WOAH BUNCH, comprising Endra, Yu Sum, and Elise, demonstrated remarkable teamwork and presentation skills. Their hard work and ingenuity paid off as they clinched the Best Presentation Award and secured an impressive 2nd place in their category. The experience not only strengthened their technical expertise but also honed their ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently.
IDE (Innovation, Design and Engineering) Series 2025
Our Secondary 1 members made their debut in the IDE Series 2025, where they were challenged to apply their understanding of coding, electronics, and mechanical design to solve complex problems. The experience proved invaluable — exposing them to real-world applications of STEM concepts and inspiring them to further develop their skills for future challenges.
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) 2024/2025
Our Secondary 3 members represented the school in the FIRST LEGO League 2024/2025, tackling the competition’s engineering and innovation challenges with creativity and perseverance. Through the process of designing, programming, and presenting their solutions, the team deepened their understanding of robotics and strengthened their collaborative problem-solving abilities.
Other Workshops
Beyond competition preparation, the Robotics Club continued to broaden students’ exposure to diverse areas of technology and programming. Our Secondary 3 members explored game design using HTML, applying their coding knowledge to create interactive web-based games after their competition season. Meanwhile, our Secondary 1 members deepened their understanding of coding through LEGO Robotics workshops, where they learnt the complete process of designing, building, and programming functional robots. These experiences not only strengthened students’ computational thinking but also sparked creativity and curiosity in the ever-evolving field of technology.
Competing in the National Robotics Competition and the First Lego League taught me a lot about the power of teamwork and persistence. These events truly tested our efficiency, pushing my team and me to perfect our robots for flawless execution. Though we hit a few bumps—like struggling with communication at times—I learned that resilience is essential to overcoming challenges. This experience not only boosted my problem-solving skills but also sharpened my ability to communicate effectively, from group discussions to class presentations. In the end, it wasn't just about building robots; it was also about building myself!— Chen Xu
