2025 Key Events and Achievements
Copyright School Challenge 2025
Our Secondary Three students participated in the competition and the theme for the competition was “Discovery”. One of our teams received an Honourable Mention. The team used a third-person point of view in their shots, and their video depicted the interactions of the main character with her peers as she discovered the feelings of jealousy.
Our School, Our Stories photo and video contest 2025
This year, our Secondary One students took part in the photography contest and the Secondary Two students took part in the video contest. They spent many hours crafting their storyboards before embarking on shooting and editing the media to show their story.
Photography Workshop
Our Secondary One students attended a photography workshop to learn various photography techniques and skills from professional photographers. They learnt how to use the manual settings on DSLR cameras and experienced how to compose their shots and the techniques used in photography.
Videography Workshop
Our Secondary Two students attended a digital film making workshop where they learnt the importance of developing a good storyboard and the different techniques used in filming. After filming the shots as a team, each student was tasked to create their own video using the same footage. The results were eye-opening as the videos showed the student’s creativity in editing the shots during post-production.
Learning Journeys
This year, we decided to have different learning journeys for each level. The Secondary One students visited The Red Dot Design Museum where they learnt about the cutting-edge and award-winning designs from around the world.
The Secondary Two students had an interesting and impactful experience of how the visually handicapped experience life when they participated in the Dialogue in the Dark.
The Secondary Three students visited the MINT Museum of Toys where a vast collection of vintage toys and childhood memorabilia is showcased. The students experienced the use of augmented reality (AR) cards in storytelling.
My CCA has provided me with valuable experiences that helped me grow in photography and videography. A key highlight was producing a video for the school's 38th Speech Day, where I learnt the importance of storyboarding, planning, and teamwork. The process taught me to manage challenges such as scheduling interviews, ensuring good lighting and sound, and meeting deadlines. Through this project, I developed patience, adaptability, and perseverance while honing my leadership and collaboration skills. I am grateful for this opportunity, which not only strengthened my technical abilities but also deepened my passion for media production.— Ramesh Sadhana
