2025 Key Events and Achievements
Participation in the National Day Parade at the Padang
Corporal Wong Jun Yuan made the school proud as part of the National Cadet Corps contingent in this year’s National Day Parade at the Padang. Selected from among many cadets across Singapore, Jun Yuan dedicated countless hours to perfecting his drills through demanding training sessions. His determination and perseverance shone through as he marched with confidence and pride on the nation’s biggest stage.
1-Star and 2-Star Kayaking Proficiency Courses
The Junior and Senior Cadets were given the opportunity to take up 1-Star and 2-Star kayaking proficiency courses at the scenic SAF Yacht Club. These courses provided cadets with the opportunity to develop character, resilience, fitness through a water-based sporting endeavour. Cadets were equipped with the necessary technical skills to stay safe and confident on water while having fun with their peers.
Freestyle Drill Competition (FSD) 2025
The team, led by MSG (NCC) Ashvin S/O Ganesan, MSG (NCC) Aqil Uzair Bin Nor Azahar and SSG (NCC) Xavier Chong Zhi Xian, performed with pride and dedication during the Freestyle Drill Competition (FSD) 2025. The team showcased originality in their choreography, seamlessly blending traditional drills with creative elements that captivated the audience. Their synchronised movements and teamwork showcased discipline and leadership, leaving a lasting impression that embodied the NCC spirit.
Camp FORGE and Camp STEEL
Camp FORGE and Camp STEEL were exciting highlights of the NCC experience where cadets embarked on a journey of growth and adventure. At Camp FORGE, Junior Cadets dove into engaging activities designed to build confidence and resilience, including the flying fox, archery and a paintball gallery shoot. Meanwhile, at Camp STEEL, Senior Cadets faced thrilling challenges that tested their resolve through rappelling, low-elements challenge, and a 5-vs-5 paintball shootout.
Serving as the USM of NCC has been an incredible journey of leadership, responsibility, and growth. I learned the importance of teamwork, discipline, and communication while managing both training sessions and the welfare of cadets. The role challenged me to lead by example, remain calm under pressure, and make decisions that balanced efficiency with fairness. Through organizing activities, guiding juniors, and working closely with fellow leaders, I developed a deeper appreciation for commitment and unity. The experience not only strengthened my leadership skills but also taught me valuable lessons that I will carry beyond NCC.— Goh Guan Bin
