Girls' Brigade helps girls grow physically, mentally, and socially through enriching activities and community service.

2025 Key Events and Achievements
Girls’ Brigade (GB) National Music Drill Competition
The Girls’ Brigade (GB) National Music Drill Competition is a drill competition organised once every two years. As a uniformed group, drills are part of the GB curriculum. GB recognises that drills help to instil discipline, unity, and respect among members. The music drill competition not only tests members on their ability to execute various drill movements, it also allows members to express their creativity by designing the choreography for the Music Drill component. The 79th Secondary GB unit is proud to have achieved the Silver Award in the GB National Music Drill Competition 2025.
Girls’ Brigade Friend In Deed (GBFD) Project
The GBFD project is an annual project in which GB members help to fulfil the wishes of vulnerable Singaporeans. This initiative hopes to inculcate empathy and community spirit in GB members. This year, our company fulfilled 40 wishes. The GB members packed the wishes into goodie bags, wrote cards and crafted bouquets of flowers for each recipient, adding a personalised touch that brought smiles to the recipients of the wishes.
Achievements
The company was awarded the Gold Company Award in 2025. This award is presented to companies who have consistently performed well in National Competitions and have demonstrated strong efforts in engaging the school and the community. The award is testament to the dedication of GB members as well as the commitment of GB officers in guiding the members towards developing important values, new skills and greater confidence in their abilities.
As the chairperson of the Girls' Brigade (GB), I took part in many activities and learnt many new things. In March 2025, we participated in the National Music Drill Competition. After months of preparation, we obtained a Silver for the competition. The competition taught me about the importance of discipline and responsibility. We also participated in the Girls' Brigade Friend In Deed (GBFD) programme. As part of the programme, we packed and distributed goodie bags to the less privileged members of the community. When the residents received the goodie bags, they were so happy. I felt accomplished and hope to be able to continue serving the community.
