2025 Key Events and Achievements
National School Games North Zone ‘B’ Division Tournament (Boys & Girls)
The ‘B’ Division players represented the school proudly at the National School Games North Zone Tournament, giving their all in every match. Both our Boys’ and Girls’ teams displayed admirable teamwork, grit, and sportsmanship, earning several hard-fought victories against tough opponents. The Girls’ team in particular shone by qualifying for the quarter-finals, putting up spirited performances that reflected their dedication and growth. With valuable experience gained, both teams are even more determined to push further and achieve greater success in the next tournament.
National School Games ‘C’ Division Tournament (Boys & Girls)
The ‘C’ Division players competed fiercely in the National School Games Tournament, showcasing their commitment and fighting spirit in every match. Our Boys’ team delivered commendable performances and represented the school with pride. The Girls’ team came within a single win of progressing to the next round — a narrow miss that has only strengthened their resolve. Undeterred, both teams are determined to build on their experience and go even further in next year’s tournament.
Friendlies & Exchanges with other schools
As part of our preparatory work and training, our badminton team also had the opportunity to participate in friendlies and exchanges with other schools – CHIJ St. Joseph’s Convent and Junyuan Secondary School – this year. The opportunity to compete with and learn from our peers in other schools was an eye-opener to techniques and strategies different from what we had. These friendlies and exchanges definitely further diversified and improved our skillsets, and gave us an edge in understanding our opponents better during the NSG.
Having spent a year in badminton, I daresay the camaraderie shared within the team is unrivalled. I love how everyone would cheer for one another, celebrate every victory, and comfort each other after a loss – even those not involved in the particular games clapped and rallied from the sidelines. Before each match, our captain and vice-captain would lead us in an uplifting and energetic team cheer, motivating us to greater heights; and under our coaches' guidance, we performed well and fought with spirit. Our results might not meet our expectations, but I have learnt the importance of teamwork and staying united as a team. I hope we can continue to achieve more in the future! The 'C' Division Tournament was a fun and meaningful experience that I'll always remember.— Au Yi Lin
